The friendship between Shay and Washington was based on Fort Arsenal/Washington. Connor kept Shay’s tree of life badge which Cassidy Finnegan sent him. Shay brought back Haytham’s sword from London. Haytham stated that Templars don’t need any gravestones except Shay still needs one to cover his identity. Haytham was buried next to Shay’s fake grave.
